You read each article aloud in short passages, the way a schoolteacher once asked. The difference: an acoustic model scores every word and syllable you utter — quietly, precisely, without sighing. Words you nailed are set in confident black; words that betrayed you are marked in editor's blue for another pass.

A private commonplace book
Tap any word while reading and it is clipped into your collection, definition and pronunciation included. Later, the practice desk quizzes you: four cards — pictures, definitions, or both — one of them right. Miss it, and the correct meaning is shown without ceremony; you'll meet the word again soon.

Repetition, conversation, mastery
Spaced repetition — the oldest trick in the schoolhouse — decides when each word returns. Short audio explainers tell you what the dictionary won't: whether a word is bookish, formal, or best left in the 19th century. Then the machine asks you questions about what you read, and expects full, well-formed sentences.
